Jim is a trained architect, professional craftsman and woodworker who moved easily into fine arts and painting. Architecture is at the heart of Wildman’s thinking as an artist.

Illusionism in art history means the artistic tradition in which artists create a work of art that appears to share the physical space with the viewer.
Wildman builds up cumulative layers of in both his realistic and non-representational painting. His works begin with brushing or laying in colors; one layer after another with a brush or palette knife. He is comfortable with fine detail or placing big swaths of color onto his canvas. His paintings evolve in stages.

James C. Wildman is a mixed media contemporary realist painter, sculptor, and master woodworker who lives and works in Claremore, Oklahoma. For more than a decade Jim served as a member of the United States Marine Corp. A distinguished combat veteran, Wildman’s calm demeanor and logical mind are reflected in the optimism and energy of his art.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University School of Architecture, Jim’s distinctive personal style emanates from his unique ability to combine diverse disciplines and ideas into cohesive designs and bold and bright artworks sought after by luxury home builders, interior decorators, and art collectors worldwide.
Within his latest presentation of engaging abstracts and signature portraits, Jim’s creative vision is brought to life with harmonious color and bold composition.
